USI women’s tennis splits weekend road trip

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team split a neutral site road trip to begin the spring schedule, defeating Lewis University, 5-4, and losing to Grand Valley State University, 6-3, in Indianapolis, Indiana. USI's record goes to 11-4 in 2004-05.

The Eagles were led by freshman number one singles player Sara Wilhoite (Connersville, Indiana) and freshman number three singles player Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Indiana) by posting a pair of singles' victories. Wilhoite raised her record to 12-7 overall, while Ackerman rose to 11-7 in 2004-05.

USI resumes the spring schedule with its spring home opener against Western Kentucky University April 14. Match time is 3 p.m.
