EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team raised their record to 14-4 overall with a 2-0 sweep of Indiana University Southeast and Bellarmine University Saturday in New Albany, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles are having an outstanding spring, posting a 4-1 record.
The USI doubles teams – junior Ashley Rees (Vincennes, Indiana) and freshman Sara Wilhoite(Connersville, Indiana) at number one sophomore Audra Bartelt (Jasper, Indiana) and freshman Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Illinois) at number two and sophomore Casey Clausman (Vincennes, Indiana) and freshman Maggie Coffman (Sellersburg, Indiana) at number three – gave the team a 3-0 advantage in both of matches Saturday.
Wilhoite would continue her mastery at number one by winning both of her matches to raise her overall record to 16-6. In addition to Wilhoite, Ackerman, Bartelt, and Coffman were 2-0 in singles action.
USI will finish the 2004-05 regular season schedule by playing Northwood University Friday in Indianapolis, Indiana.
