The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team started the 2003 spring season with a 5-4 road victory over Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. USI raises its record to 11-2 overall in 2002-03.
The Screaming Eagles jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play and split the singles matches, 3-3, for the victory.
Next up for the Eagles is the Northwood University and Grand Valley State University Sunday, April 6. Both matches will be held on GVSU's campus with USI's match versus Northwood match at 10 a.m. and against host GVSU at 3 p.m.
The Eagles, ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Great Lakes Regional poll, is in search of its first NCAA Division II Tournament berth.
