University of Southern Indiana senior Emily Blinzinger (Oakland City, Indiana) picked up her career record-tying 41st doubles victory in USI's 9-0 win over Bellarmine University Friday afternoon at Advantage Court and Fitness. Blinzinger tied former USI women's tennis player Emily Nall, who played between 1997 and 2000.
The senior number one player from Oakland City holds at least a share of the USI career records in singles, doubles and combined victories.
USI, as a team, remained perfect in 2002 with a 6-0 overall and Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Eagles will play the University of Indianapolis on Saturday, September 21, at 9 a.m. for the top spot in the GLVC. Indianapolis, which was to play Kentucky Wesleyan College today, entered the weekend with an 8-0 overall record, 7-0 GLVC.
The Eagles have rescheduled the USI-KWC match, which was rained out on Thursday, for Tuesday, September 24, at 3 p.m.
