The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team remained perfect with a 7-2 victory at Quincy University Friday afternoon. The Eagles raise their record to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Quincy falls to 1-5, 1-4 GLVC.
USI had to come from behind to get the victory, dropping two of the three doubles matches. The Eagles did the job in the singles matches, capturing all six matches.
Senior Emily Blinzinger (Oakland City, Indiana) remained perfect at number one singles, but remained two victories short of the USI record for doubles as she and junior Nichole Freyberger (Jasper, Indiana) dropped their first doubles match of the season on Friday. Blinzinger needs two doubles victories to match Emily Nall, who had 41 in her four-year career.
