The 40th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team opened its 2002 Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a pair of road victories this weekend. The Screaming Eagles started the action Friday in Indianapolis, Indiana with a 5-4 win over the 36th-ranked team in the nation, the University of Indianapolis, and ended it this morning with a 5-4 victory against Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

Seniors Chris Crawford (Jeffersonville, Indiana) and Ethan Davis (Sullivan, Indiana) both went 2-0 in singles competition while sophomore Weston Phillips (Henderson, Kentucky) and freshman Chris McCreight (Jeffersonville, Indiana) teamed to go a perfect 2-0 in doubles action.

The Eagles, which improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the GLVC, will travel to Louisville, Kentucky to take on Bellarmine University Tuesday, April 2. USI will return home to take on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Friday, April 5, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis as well as Quincy University Saturday, April 7.
