USI Men’s Golf lands two Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf had two student-athletes named on the Cobalt-Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholars list for their academic achievements in 2025-26.
 
The Screaming Eagles' Carter Goebel and Sam Gargis completed the year with at least a 3.2 GPA, while also participating in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds and having a stroke average of 76.0 throughout the season.
 
Goebel competed in a team-high 33 rounds for the Screaming Eagles in 2025-26. He earned a team-low per-round average of 73.97 strokes in his senior season. Goebel shot an impressive 66 (-5) round at the Wright State Invitational, tying the team's single-round low. Goebel tied for 14th place at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, following a 216 three-round score.
 
Gargis participated in 24 rounds as a graduate transfer for the Screaming Eagles. Gargis had the second-lowest average round score on the team with 74.46. He shot a season-low of 69 (-3) at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational.
