University of Southern Indiana President Steven J. Bridges has been named Chair of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Board of Presidents and Chancellors, effective July 1. In this role, he will provide strategic leadership for the Conference, preside over Board meetings and oversee key business and governance functions during his term. The position rotates annually among member institution presidents, and Bridges succeeds Dr. John R. Porter, President of Lindenwood University.

"I am honored to serve as Chair of the OVC Board of Presidents and to work alongside my colleagues to advance the Conference's shared priorities," said Bridges. "The OVC plays an important role in supporting our student-athletes and strengthening our institutions, and I look forward to helping guide its continued success."

The Board of Presidents and Chancellors serves as the Conference's primary governing body, setting strategic direction and overseeing the budget and executive leadership.

Bridges, a two-time USI alumnus and the University's fifth President, brings more than 37 years of leadership experience at USI, including service as Vice President for Finance and Administration.
