EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana Athletics announced that juniors
Ellie Hall (Women's Cross Country/Track & Field) and
Alex Nolan (Men's Cross Country/Track & Field) have been named the Old National Bank/USI Student Athletes of the Year.
Hall is coming off a career-year for the Screaming Eagles that saw her earn Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors as well as first-team All-OVC distinction.
The Ferdinand, Indiana, native finished fifth at the OVC Cross Country Championships last fall after being named OVC Runner of the Week honors twice during the regular season. She posted four top-10 finishes and was 60th at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships.
On the track, Hall raced to a pair of wins at the OVC Outdoor Championships last month. She carded conference titles in the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters after recording the top time in the OVC in both events during the regular season.
Nolan also had a career season for the Screaming Eagles that saw him earn OVC Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors as well as first-team All-OVC accolades.
The Evansville native collected a third-place finish at the OVC Cross Country Championships and was 61st at the NCAA I Great Lakes Region Championships. He was named OVC Runner of the Week three times during the regular season.
Nolan raced to four conference titles on the track during the indoor and outdoor seasons. He won the 3,000 and 5,000 meters at the OVC Indoor Championships before earning victories in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the OVC Outdoor Championships.

The award was not presented in 2020 due to COVID-19.
