LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Junior
Alex Nolan and freshman
Kraedyn Young accounted for a combined 38 points to lead University of Southern Indiana Men's Track & Field to a fifth-place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.
Nolan earned wins in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, while Young raced to a victory in the 1,500 meters and a second-place showing in the 5,000 meters.
The Screaming Eagles erupted for 27 points in the 10,000 meters Thursday as Nolan and senior
Dominick Beine finished first and second, respectively. Nolan crossed the finish line in 31 minutes, 1.41 seconds, while Beine finished just over six seconds later at 31:07.54.

Carson Brown and junior
Landen Swiney crossed the finish line moments later to give the Screaming Eagles four of the top five finishers in the event.
Friday's action was highlighted by the efforts of sophomores
Ben Perulfi and
Alan Marshall as well as junior
Joe Schwartz in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Perulfi earned a spot on the podium with his third-place showing, while Schwartz and Marshall respectively added fourth and seventh-place finishes.
The groundwork was laid out for a huge scoring opportunity in the 1,500 meters in the prelims on Thursday when four Screaming Eagles punched their tickets to Saturday's final. The fastest event squad in the state of Indiana did not disappoint in the final round as Young and sophomore
Layden Wagoner finished first and second with times of 3:49.17 and 3:49.36.
Redshirt freshman
Wylee Kippenbrock was just over a second off the winning pace as he finished fourth, while sophomore
Griffen Wheeler added a seventh-place finish to give USI another 25 points.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles finished the meet with 88 points, including five points from a fourth-place finish by junior
Cole Hess in the finals of 800 meters on Saturday.
USI concluded its scoring when Nolan and Young finished first and second in the 5,000 meters Saturday afternoon. Nolan finished in 15:01.43, while Young posted a time of 15:06.13.
The fifth-place finish at the OVC Outdoor Championships caps a strong 2025-26 academic calendar for the Screaming Eagles, who finished fourth at the OVC Indoor Championships after placing second at the OVC Cross Country Championships.
