Eagles to compete at OVC Women's Golf Championship

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Golf is set to compete at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Sunday-Tuesday at the Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Georgia. The 54-hole tournament will crown the 2026 OVC champion.
 
The OVC tournament features nine affiliates, including Morehead State University, Tennessee State University, Western Illinois University, Lindenwood University, Tennessee Tech University, Bryant University, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Eastern Illinois University, and USI. Morehead is the reigning OVC champion with a three-round score of 900, 29 strokes ahead of second place. 
 
Format and Course
The tournament features three rounds with one each day, totaling 54 holes. The top four scores from each squad will count toward the round score. After 54 holes, the tiebreaker will be decided by a sudden-death playoff with all five players from each team participating.
 
Dalton Golf and Country Club hosts a par-72 course on 6,016 yards. Tee times for the event are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, with subsequent days determined by the level of play.
 
The Eagles will travel to Dalton with sophomore Brianna Kirsch, sophomore Fernanda Vera, junior Tora Timinsky, freshman McKenna Lowe, and graduate student Valeria Lopez de Haro Juste as the starting five for the competition.


Spring Season Recap
USI has competed in 11 total competitions during the 2025-26 season. The Eagles last competed at the Jan Weaver Invitational, hosted by Murray State University, where Timinsky led the team with a total score of 229, including two rounds of 74.

The team secured a 4.5–2.5 match play win over rival the University of Evansville in the fall, just one week after placing fourth at the Windy City Invitational hosted by Chicago State University.
 
For the season, Lopez de Haro Juste paced the team with a 79.15 average over 20 rounds. Timinsky recorded the squad's lowest round with a 71 at the Butler Fall Invitational and also posted the top finish of the year, tying for fifth at the Charles Braun Invitational hosted by Evansville in the fall.
