EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf closes out its regular season at the Wright State Invitational in Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday and Monday.
The Wright State Invitational will be held at the Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio, on Sunday and Monday. Rounds one and two will be on Sunday, with the final round taking place on Monday. The par-71 course will measure approximately 6,754 yards.
Other participating teams besides USI and Wright State at the WSU Invitational include the University of Findlay, Youngstown State University, Chicago State University, Xavier University, Indian Hills Community College, University of Detroit Mercy, Cleveland State University, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Mercyhurst University, Indiana University Indianapolis, Ashland University, and Eastern Illinois University.
The Screaming Eagles will send six athletes to the event, including senior
Carter Goebel, graduate student
Wade Worthington, freshman
Ingtawan Wangrungwichaisri, sophomore
Alex Peck, graduate student
Sam Gargis, and sophomore
Chandler Ornelas.
In its most recent outing, the team tied for 14th place at the Murray Racer Intercollegiate in Paducah, Kentucky. Gargis led the squad with a +10 overall score, highlighted by a team-best even-par 72 in the second round.
After the invitational wraps up, the team will turn its focus to the Ohio Valley Conference Championship, set for April 26–29 in West Lafayette, Indiana. USI will compete against conference opponents over the first two days, aiming to secure a spot in match play for the championship round on the final day.
