Men's Golf takes on the APSU Intercollegiate

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf travels to Dickson, Tennessee, for the Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
 
This marks the Screaming Eagles' first appearance at the event. The tournament will be played at Greystone Golf Club, a par-72 course measuring 7147 yards. The teams will be completing 36 holes on day one, with the final 18 coming on Tuesday.
 
USI will take on 12 schools in the event, including Western Kentucky University, Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee at Martin, Chicago State University, Murray State University, High point University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Micholls State University, Cleveland State University, Bradley University, Lindenwood University, West Texas A&M University, Bellarmine University, Jacksonville State University, and Austin Peay.
 
Last time out, USI faced crosstown rival the University of Evansville in a dual match at Fendrich Golf Course. The Aces secured a 5.5–2.5 victory overall, but senior Carter Goebel and sophomore Jairen Stroud delivered a standout performance for USI. The pair clinched their match on the 15th hole, building an insurmountable four-hole lead over their opponents.
 
The Eagles last competed at the Gulf Coast Collegiate in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 23–24. The team placed 11th out of 15, with Goebel leading the way after finishing at +16 over three rounds. The senior also recorded the team's lowest round of the tournament, carding a 1-under on day three.
 
Following the conclusion of the APSU Intercollegiate, the team will travel to Indianapolis for the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational on March 30-31. This event will be hosted at the Highland Golf and Country Club.
