EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's and Women's Golf fell to crosstown foe the University of Evansville, 5.5-2.5, in a dual match at Fendrich Golf Course Friday afternoon.

The match opened with graduate student
Sam Gargis and sophomore
Brianna Kirsch teaming up against the Purple Aces' top pair. After 18 holes, the teams were tied, resulting in each university earning half a point.

On the women's side, the team of sophomore
Fernanda Vera and graduate student
Valeria Lopez de Haro Juste picked up the team's first full point of the day, clinching the victory on the 16th hole.

Freshman
McKenna Lowe and junior
Tora Timinsky battled through all 18 holes but fell just short of a tie, dropping their point on the final hole. Rounding out the women's side, sophomore
Camryn Luthy and junior
Alexis Wymer were defeated by seven, with their match concluding on the 12th hole.

For the men, the duo of senior
Carter Goebel and sophomore
Jairen Stroud came out on top in their matchup. The duo earned the victory on the 15th hole, taking a commanding four-hole lead over their opponents.

Wade Worthington and sophomore
Chandler Ornelas battled through the 18th hole but ultimately fell short by two holes. Freshmen
Ingtawan Wangrungwichaisri and
Weston Hardy also came up two holes short, with their match concluding on the 17th.

Alex Peck and junior
Hunter Reynolds went the full 18 holes but ultimately dropped their point by two holes.

Both teams return to competition on Monday. The men will travel to Dickson, Tennessee, to compete in the Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. Meanwhile, the women will head to Batavia, Ohio, to participate in The Julie, hosted by Northern Kentucky University, also on Monday and Tuesday.
