NEW ORLEANS, La.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf completed the Gulf Coast Collegiate hosted by the University of New Orleans Tuesday afternoon in New Orleans, Louisiana. The team finished the two-day competition 11th out of 15 teams.

Round 1
The Screaming Eagles opened the competition with a team round of 329, finishing the first round in 14th place. Senior
Carter Goebel and sophomore
Alex Peck each shot an 81 (+9) in the first round, two strokes ahead of freshman
Weston Hardy, who finished with the third-best score.

Round 2
The first day of competition continued with the second round. Junior
Hunter Reynolds showed a significant improvement, lowering his score from an 84 (+12)Â in the opening round to a team-best 78 (+6)Â in round two. Goebel and Peck once again matched each other, each posting a score of 80 (+8).

USI concluded the first day with a second-round team score of 321, placing them 11th heading into the final day of competition.

Round 3
Tuesday wrapped up with the team shooting an impressive 309, securing the 11th-place slot. Goebel saw a nine-stroke improvement on the second day, shooting 71 (-1), marking the team's only round below par. Goebel's second-day performances skyrocketed him up the leaderboard, with him finishing the tournament 23rd overall.

Peck continued his impressive tournament, shooting a 76 (+4) in the closing round placing him 37th overall. Hardy also found his stroke on day two, shooting 77 (+5) in the third round, a six-stroke improvement from the second round.

The Eagles will have an extended break, returning to the course March 20 for a match against the University of Evansville at Fendrich Golf Course in Evansville, Indiana. The two programs faced off in the fall at Western Hills Country Club, with the Purple Aces coming out on top 6.5-3.5.
