Alex Nolan has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week in an announcement by the league office Wednesday.
Nolan set a personal-best time of 14 minutes, 0.28 seconds in the 5,000 meters at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic Saturday in Boston, Massachusetts.
His time ranks first in the OVC, ninth in the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region and fifth on USI's all-time indoor 5,000-meter list.
The award marks the first time in Nolan's career that he has taken home OVC Track Athlete of the Week accolades. He was named OVC Runner of the Week three times during the 2025 cross country season en route to earning OVC Runner of the Year laurels.
USI also announced a schedule change for this weekend as the Screaming Eagles will venture to Louisville, Kentucky, and the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center to take part in the Eastern Indoor Friday. The Screaming Eagles close out the regular season February 13-14 with the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee, while the OVC Indoor Championships are February 24-25 in Louisville, Kentucky.
