EVANSVILLE, Ind. — University of Southern Indiana Baseball returns to Ohio Valley Conference action this weekend when it hosts Southeast Missouri State University this weekend. The three-game series will be the final conference home weekend for USI and features Senior Day on Sunday.
The conference series starts Friday at 6 p.m.; continues Saturday at 3 p.m.; and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. Senior Day activities will be held prior to Sunday's game.
The final game of the five-game homestand is May 13 and will be a rematch of the USI-University of Evansville. The first pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at the USI Baseball Field.

USI Baseball Notes:
USI wins at home over UE. The USI Screaming Eagles defeated the University of Evansville Purple Aces, 7-5, to start the week Wednesday night. The USI victory over Evansville at the USI Baseball Field was the first for the Eagles since the 1980 season when they swept a doubleheader.
Eagles are winning midweek. USI is 6-5 during midweek games in 2025. The Eagles are hitting .332 as a team and averaging eight runs a game during the midweek contests, while the USI hurlers are holding the opposition to a .254 batting average and is allowing seven runs a game.
Umbach ties season high vs. UE. Sophomore infielder
Anthony Umbach tied a season-high with three hits in the win over UE.
Gonzalez gets first win of the year. Junior left-hander
Andres Gonzalez posted his first win of the season in relief versus UE. Gonzalez threw two scoreless innings, walking one and striking out two.
Boyd extends hitting streak to 13 games. Sophomore outfielder
Cameron Boyd extended his hitting streak to 13 games in the win over UE. The 13-game is tied for the second longest of the season by an Eagle. Boyd is hitting .417 (20-48) during the hitting streak with three home runs and 13 RBIs.
USI won first three OVC series. The USI Eagles opened the OVC slate with back-to-back-to-back series wins. USI, which has lost the last four series, won four OVC series all of last season.
Hot Eagles. Sophomore outfielder
Cameron Boyd (18-42) and sophomore infielder
Anthony Umbach (15-35) have been the hottest Eagles over the last 10 games, both hitting .429. Boyd also has posted 11 runs scored, three home runs, and 13 RBIs. Senior outfielder
Khi Holiday rounds out the .400 hitters in the last 10 games by hitting .415 (17-41) with 17 runs scored, two doubles, a home run, and eight RBIs.
USI leaders at the plate. Junior designated hitter
Cole Kitchens leads USI at the plate with a .378 batting average (71-188), while posting a team-best 52 RBIs and 11 home runs. The .378 average is the best mark in the OVC, while Kitchens' 52 RBIs rank second in the league. Sophomore infielder
Parker Martin follows with a .367 average, which ranks second in the OVC.
USI in the OVC. USI leads the OVC with a .311 team batting average. The Eagles are eighth in the league with a 6.92 ERA on the bump. In the 21 games of league action, USI is first in batting (.313) and ninth in pitching (6.81 ERA).

Ian Anderson leads USI with three wins in OVC play (3-1), all out of the bullpen. Anderson also has three of USI's eight saves this season.
USI hosts SEMO this weekend. USI hosts Southeast Missouri State University this weekend. SEMO is 27-21 overall, 13-8 OVC. The Redhawks are 5-5 in the last 10 games. USI and SEMO are tied 28-28 in the series after the Redhawks took three of four from the Eagles in 2024. SEMO took the last matchup in the OVC Tournament last spring, 11-5.
