Hadessah Austin set new school records as University of Southern Indiana Women's Track & Field concluded a strong trip to the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday night.
Comastri broke her own school-record in the 800 meters Thursday when she finished 16th in the Open competition with a time of two minutes, 11.19 seconds. Her time also ranks first in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.
Austin also ran the OVC's fastest 5,000-meter time Thursday night after crossing the finish line in 12th-place with a new USI freshman record of 16:23.45. She broke USI Hall of Famer Heather Cooksey's freshman mark of 16:39.33, which was set at the 2003 Hillsdale Relays, and moved into third all-time at USI in the event.
Comastri returned the track Friday night to post a 1,500-meter time of 4:31.51. Her time ranks first in the OVC and fourth all-time at USI.
Sophomore
Ellie Hall also had a strong effort in the 1,500 meters, where she finished 20th in the Open B competition. Hall crossed the finish line in 4:34.84, which ranks fourth in the OVC and ninth all-time at USI.
USI returns to action April 25-26 when it competes at the Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
