EVANSVILLE, Ind. — University of Southern Indiana Baseball opens the 2022 home schedule Saturday at 2 p.m. when it starts a three-game series with Lake Erie College at the USI Baseball Field. The series opener, originally scheduled for Friday, had to be postponed 24 hours due to the forecast of cold and inclement weather.
The new USI-LEC series schedule is set for a 2 p.m. first pitch Saturday, a 1 p.m. start Sunday; and a noon series finale on Monday.

USI vs. Lake Erie: USI (3-0) holds an 8-1 series lead over Lake Erie after taking two of three from the Storm last season at the USI Baseball Field.
Lake Erie in 2022: The three-game series is the season opening game for the Storm of Lake Erie. The Storm, who are picked to place 11
th in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this year, finished 2021 with an 8-29 record, 6-24 in the G-MAC.
Eagles in 2022: USI started this spring in spectacular fashion, sweeping three from #26 Young Harris College on the road last weekend. The Eagles averaged 13 runs per game in the season opening series.

Adam Wildeman had a team-best .667 batting average the first weekend (4-6), while junior infielder/catcher
Lucas McNew (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) led the Eagles with nine RBIs and USI's only home run of the weekend.
