USI men's tennis at ITA Regional

USI Results;Overall Results: Singles;Doubles

WHITELAND, Ind. -- University of Southern Indiana freshmen Ricardo Stewart (Canada) and Joseph Boesing (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) advanced to the third round of the ITA Regional Tournament before bowing out on Saturday. Stewart and Boesing was defeated in the quarterfinals by eventual champion Peter Kazianschuetz and Bertrand Vigouroux of Northwood University.

The freshman pair started the tournament with a win over Ferris State University's Jack Swan and Tyler Shelly, 8-4, and advanced on a win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis' Andreas Dimke and Daniel Anthony.

In singles, sophomore Ben Hamm (Batesville, Indiana) advanced to the second round before bowing out. Hamm defeated Tom Rastall of the University of Indianapolis in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) before falling to NU's Kazianschuetz in straight sets (6-2,6-4).

The tournament finished the fall season for the Eagles, who will resume action during the spring half of the season.
