EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana senior men's golfer Ted O'Brien was named a Cleveland Golf/Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar for the 2007-08 year. This is the second straight season that O'Brien has been honored by the GCAA.

O'Brien was one of 26 NCAA Division II players to be recognized and one of 131 men's golfers across the three divisions.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 78.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2.

O'Brien finished his collegiate career this past spring, ranking second on the team with a stroke average of 77.0. He also placed in the top five once; appeared in the top 10 twice; and finished in the top 20 three times in USI's 10 tournaments last year.

For his four-year USI career, O'Brien appeared in 39 tournaments for the Eagles and had a stroke average of 77.4 in 80 rounds of play. He also had one tournament championship; placed in the top five three times; appeared in the top 10 on four occasions; and finished in the top 20 in eight tournaments.
