EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team concluded their 2017-18 campaign with a 5-0 loss to the University of Indianapolis in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament semi-finals on Saturday.
USI finished 9-13, 3-2 in the GLVC with conference victories coming against the University of Illinois-Springfield 5-4, Bellarmine University 9-0, and McKendree University 5-4. The Eagles also notched a GLVC quarterfinal win over the University of Missouri-St Louis on Friday to advance to the semi-finals.

Ilia Karelin (Ekaterinburg, Russia) lead the team with a 14-11 record with junior
Andrew Dones (Georgetown, Indiana) going 10-7. Freshman
Alexander Lawrenz (Hamburg, Germany) led newcomers with a 9-10 overall record as well.
The doubles duo of Dones and freshman Martim Café (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) went undefeated on the year going 10-0 overall while Karelin and Lawrenz just behind with a 10-1 record.
