EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team fell 5-4 to Ferris State University at Wesselman Park on Friday.
USI took one victory in the doubles competition at number three doubles with the duo of senior
Jennifer Mizikar (Batavia, Illinois) and freshman
Lauryn Thompson (Evansville, Indiana) taking the victory in 8-3.
The Eagles then mounted three more points into the singles matches starting with Thompson sweeping her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at number six singles. Mizikar followed suit in the five slot with the second straight USI win 6-1, 6-0. The final USI win came at number four singles with sophomore
Alex Jamison (Floyd Knobs, Indiana) winning in 6-4, 6-3.
A trip south is in store for the Eagles over spring break where they will play a series of opponents starting on Saturday, March 3 in Charleston, W.V. where it takes on the University of Charleston.
