EVANSVILLE, Ind. – With first-place on the line in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division, the 34
th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team fell 8-1 to the 16
th-ranked University of Indianapolis Friday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts.
The Screaming Eagles trailed only 2-1 after doubles play, when junior
Samuel Kiladejo (London, England) and senior
Aaron Barris (Marietta, Georgia) won at number two 9-7. USI lost 8-5 at number one and 8-4 at number three.
In singles, the Eagles lost all six matches. Sophomore
James Hardiman (Backwell Bristol, United Kingdom) took his match all three sets. He won the first set 6-3, before dropping the next two 6-1 and 10-3. Sophomore
Ilia Karelin (Ekaterinburg, Russia) also went three sets, but lost 6-4, 3-6, 4-10.
The Eagles conclude the regular season tomorrow when they host Lewis University at 10 a.m. at the USI Tennis Courts.
