ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—The No. 39 University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team defeated Drury University, 5-2, in the semifinal round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Saturday morning. The past two seasons, the Screaming Eagles were defeated by the Panthers in the tournament's second-round.
 
USI (17-4) took a 2-1 lead into singles competition after getting wins at one and three doubles. Sophomore 
Samuel Kiladejo (London, England) and junior 
Paul Forichon (Nimes, France) earned an 8-1 win at number-one doubles. The USI tandem defeated the NCAA Division II 14
th-ranked doubles team of Max Hepp and Kay Bartman, the 2016 GLVC Player and Freshman of the year, respectively.
 
Improving their overall record for the season to 15-0, junior 
Aaron Barris (Marietta, Georgia) and freshman 
James Hardiman (Blackwell Bristol, United Kingdom) earned an 8-4 victory. The 15-match win streak moves the duo into second-place all-time in the USI record book for consecutive doubles win.
 
Senior 
Jack Joyce (Bournemouth, England) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at number-two for the first win of singles play. Barris and Forichon picked up the final two singles wins to secure a victory for the Eagles. At six, Barris defeated his Panther opponent 6-0, 6-2, while Forichon closed out the contest with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number-five. The win was the 10
th-consecutive for Forichon, while Barris earned his eighth straight singles victory.
 
The Eagles advance to play the top seed in the East Division, the University of Indianapolis in the GLVC Championship on Sunday. The No. 21 Greyhounds earned a win in Saturday's semifinal round over the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 5-0. In the final match of the regular season, USI was defeated by Indianapolis 5-4. The championship match of the GLVC Tournament will begin Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
