EVANSVILLE, Ind.-- The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team defeated Saint Joseph's College, 9-0, Saturday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts. The Screaming Eagles move to 7-10 on the year and 3-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action with their fifth sweep of the year.

The Eagles swept doubles with the sophomore tandem of
Jennifer Mizikar (Batavia, Illinois) and
Haley Jones (Fort Branch, Indiana) opened the match with an 8-2 win at number three singles. The two moved to 3-0 together in GLVC competition. At number-one, senior
Elizabeth Wilm (Evansville, Indiana) and
Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana) also earned an 8-2 victory for win number-ten this season, sending the match to singles play.
Mizikar made quick work of her Puma opponent getting the first singles win in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Wilm earned the next victory for the Eagles to give the team their fifth win. At number-one, Wilm defeated SJC's Clare Kost by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Wu and junior
Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Indiana) earned wins at number three and four with matching scores of 6-0, 6-1. Rounding out singles competition was sophomore
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois) and Jones with 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 wins.

The Eagles will wrap up the regular season on the road next weekend. On Friday, the team will head to Romeoville, Illinois for an afternoon match with Lewis University at 2 p.m. The regular season will end after the Eagles take on the University of Indianapolis Saturday at 10 a.m.Â
