EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The No. 25 University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team will play Ferris State University Saturday in Springfield, Missouri, in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region #1 Tournament.
USI (15-6) earned its sixth consecutive bid into the NCAA II Tournament Tuesday night and its 12th in program history. The Screaming Eagles will be the No. 5 seed, while Ferris State (17-6) is the No. 4 seed.
Drury University (21-1), which won the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship, is the No. 1 seed and the Midwest Region #1 Tournament host. The Panthers open the first round with the No. 8 seed, Lewis University (12-8). The winners of the USI-Ferris State and Drury-Lewis matches will meet Sunday. to decide who advances to the NCAA II Championship Tournament, which is May 13-16 in Surprise, Arizona.

Aaron Barris have helped fuel the Eagles strong spring.
USI and Drury are two of five GLVC teams to earn NCAA II Tournament bids. The Midwest Region #2 Tournament, hosted by No. 2 seed Northwood University, is Saturday and Sunday in Midland, Michigan.
Northwood will take on the No. 7 seed, Grand Valley State University, in the first round, while the No. 6 seed, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, takes on No. 3 seeded Indianapolis University.
