25th-ranked Men's Tennis dismantles Oakland City

EVANSVILLE, Ind---The 25th-ranked University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis team dispatched Oakland City University 9-0 Tuesday in a non-conference match at the USI Tennis Courts.

The Screaming Eagles (10-5, 2-1 GLVC) opened play by blanking the Mighty Oaks (0-3) in doubles competition. At number one doubles, the duo of junior Jack Joyce and redshirt freshman Aaron Barris continued their hot streak with an 8-0 triumph for their fifth-straight victory. USI added 8-0 victories in doubles by junior Joel Stern and freshman Anthony Van Rompay and freshmen duo Samuel Kiladejo and Jack Lipchik,

The Eagles' onslaught continued in singles competition, as USI took straight-set victories in each battle. Kiladejo continued his freshman success with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number two singles, as the London, England native pushed his singles' record to 9-5. Joyce was the lone Eagle to relinquish a game to the Mighty Oaks with a 6-1, 6-2 conquest at number one singles.

USI returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference road match against Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana before resuming Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana Friday and McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois Saturday.
