EVANSVILLE, Ind.---The No. 27 University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis team earned a 6-3 non-conference victory over No. 36 University of Missouri-St. Louis Monday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts.
USI (8-4, 1-0 GLVC) earned a pair of wins in doubles play to open a 2-1 lead on the Tritons. The Screaming Eagles grabbed an 8-3 triumph at number one doubles by junior 
Jack Joyce and redshirt freshman 
Aaron Barris, while junior 
Joel Stern and freshman 
Samuel Kiladejo earned an 8-5 win at number three doubles.
In singles play, Joyce captured a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) win at number one singles, while UMSL garnered victories in number two and three singles. With the match tied 3-3, the Eagles swept the final three singles matches for the 6-3 victory. Freshman 
Roman Laga started the streak with a 6-2, 6-3 straight-sets win at number four, while Barris stormed to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at number six singles. The victory was sealed with a thrilling 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) win at number five singles by Stern.
The Eagles return to action with a pair of GLVC matches beginning Friday at 2 p.m. when they host the University of Indianapolis and concluding Saturday at 10 a.m. against Lewis University. Both matches will take place at the USI Tennis Courts.
