Eagles nearly swept by #6 Columbus State

COLUMBUS, Ga. - The 27th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team lost to a second-straight top 10 opponent, falling to sixth-ranked Columbus State University, 8-1, Tuesday afternoon in Columbus, Georgia.  USI drops to 5-4 on the season, while Columbus State rises to 9-1 in 2014-15.
 
The Screaming Eagles' lone bright spot in the match was freshman Roman Laga (Baiersbronn, Germany), who posted a tie-breaker victory at number five singles, 7-5, 3-6, 10-8.
 
USI will attempt to get back on track as it edges its way north, traveling to Georgia Southwestern State University Wednesday for a 1 p.m. (CDT) match. The Eagles conclude their spring road swing with visits to 30th-ranked University of North Georgia (Friday) and 20th-ranked Georgia College (Saturday).
