EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The 27
th-ranked University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis team fell for the second-straight match against NCAA Division One competition, with a 4-2 loss to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Saturday night in Edwardsville, Illinois. USI drops to 4-2 on the season, while SIUE rises to 5-1.
The Eagles fell behind early, as the Cougars swept doubles play. SIUE then ripped through singles competition, earning victories at number three, four, and five. The Screaming Eagles responded with triumphs at number one and two singles.
Junior
Jack Joyce (Bournemouth, England) helped the Eagles with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 win at number one singles. Freshman
Samuel Kiladejo (London, England) took the team's only other victory at number two singles 6-3. 3-6, 10-1.
Next for USI is a Saturday afternoon clash with Lindenwood University-Belleville at the Evansville Tennis Center.
