EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis Head Coach
Chris Crawford has been named the 2025 Horizon League Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.
Crawford earned his third career Coach of the Year award - the previous two in the Great Lakes Valley Conference - in his 17th season at the helm of the Screaming Eagles. USI saw a historic third season in Division I, reaching the Horizon League Conference Tournament for the first time since transitioning. The Eagles were one of six teams to earn a spot in this weekend's bracket as they clinched the berth with a riveting victory over Tennessesse Tech University, marking the first in NCAA DI history over the Golden Eagles.
As the all-time most successful men's tennis coach in USI history, Crawford oversaw a two-and-a-half game conference improvement. USI improved to 2-2 in 2025 following a 0-5 2024 Horizon campaign. In April, the Eagles' duo of junior
Axel Sabourin and freshman
Jy Hibbert earned the school's first Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week, along with multiple other Eagles making significant improvement.
STAY TUNED
The Eagles make their Horizon League Conference Championship debut in the quarterfinals on Friday at 2 p.m. CT in Ann Arbor, Michigan, against Youngstown State University.
