Eagles kick off conference action with #22 Quincy EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team starts the 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule at 22
nd-ranked Quincy University at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Quincy, Illinois. The Screaming Eagles conclude the first weekend of GLVC action and the season-opening four-game road trip Sunday when they continue on to Truman State University for a 2:30 p.m. contest in Kirksville, Missouri.

USI will make its first appearance in the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field September 19 when it hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a GLVC contest.
Week 2 Eagle Notes: USI splits opening week action: The Eagles started the 2014 campaign with a 1-1-0 mark after winning a 1-0 decision at Kentucky Wesleyan College and posting a 2-0 loss at Trevecca Nazarene University.
Mayser gets the first goal of the year. Senior midfielder
Carlos Mayser (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) recorded USI's first tally of the year and the game-winning goal in the victory at Kentucky Wesleyan College. The goal was Mayser's fifth of his career at USI. Freshman midfielder
Cesar Alba (Hanover Park, Illinois) assisted on the goal for his first collegiate point.

Mat Santoro has a 39-44-6 overall record at USI, but is 19-15-3 in the last three seasons.
Eagles hope to get GLVC-best 11th conference title in 2014. USI has a GLVC-best 10 conference championships in men's soccer since 1979. The Eagles also are looking for their first league title since 1991.
USI hopes to get on track versus Quincy. The Eagles will be shooting to get back on track against the Hawks of Quincy, who lead the all-time series with USI, 16-3-1. Quincy has won the last two meetings.
USI looks to stay on track versus Truman State. USI won its first GLVC-meeting with Truman State last fall, 3-0, at Strassweg Field and broke an eight-match losing streak to the Bulldogs. Truman State, which was known as Northeast Missouri State University until the mid-1990s, leads the all-time series with USI, 9-5-1.
