Jack Joyce have earned All-Great Lakes Valley Conference men's tennis honors in a vote by the league's head coaches.
Lopez is earning All-Conference honors for the second time in his three-year career at USI after posting a combined record of 36-15 in doubles and singles action in 2013-14. He racked up a 19-8 singles mark, including a 5-4 tally at No. 1 singles and a 4-1 record in GLVC play.
In doubles play, Lopez was a combined 17-7, including 6-1 when paired with Joyce at No. 1 doubles.
Joyce, the 2013 GLVC Freshman of the Year, is earning his first All-GLVC honor after posting a combined 36-14 record this year, including a 17-7 tally in singles play. Joyce, who was a perfect 5-0 in GLVC action, went 5-1 at No. 1 singles and 9-3 at No. 2 singles.
USI (16-6, 4-1 GLVC) begins the GLVC Championship Tournament Friday at 9 a.m. when it takes on Rockhurst University in the first round in St. Louis. The Screaming Eagles are the No. 2 seed from the East Division and defending GLVC Tournament champions, while Rockhurst is the No. 3 seed from the West Division.
The GLVC Tournament, which is being hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis, resumes Saturday at 9 a.m. with the semifinals. The championship is Sunday at noon.
USI is looking for its second straight GLVC Tournament title and its seventh in program history.
