Box ScoreROMEOVILLE, Ill.—The No. 24 University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team rebounded from a tough outing against the University of Indianapolis Friday by grinding out a 6-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Lewis University Saturday afternoon.
USI (12-6, 2-1 GLVC) earned a pair of wins in doubles play before grabbing wins at No. 2, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to seal the victory.
Sophomore
Joel Stern was 2-0 to lead the Screaming Eagles. Stern paired with senior
Santiago Lopez for an 8-1 triumph at No. 2 doubles before collecting a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 doubles.
Freshman
Josh Walden also posted a pair of wins. Walden benefited from a default win at No. 3 doubles before earning a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles.
The Eagles return to action Friday at 3 p.m. when they host Saint Joseph's College in a men's and women's doubleheader at the USI Tennis Courts.
