Eagles advance to GLVC Championship match

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Another sweep of doubles helped lead the 40th ranked and No. 1 seed University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team past the University of Indianapolis Friday evening in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
 
Sophomore Michael Kuzaj and senior Juan Quiroz routed their doubles match 8-1, while senior Ben Boesing and freshman Jack Joyce won their 12th consecutive match with an 8-3 victory.
 
In singles, at the No. 1 slot, Kuzaj was a winner 6-4, 3-0 before Fausto Cordova retired. Junior Santiago Lopez, who played at No. 3 had little issues with his foe, as he was a winner 6-1, 6-3.
 
The 15-4 Screaming Eagles play for the GLVC Championship Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. (CDT) against the winner of Rockhurst University and Drury University in the other semifinal.
