EVANSVILLE, Ind. – With three straight wins to begin the Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown against McKendree University, the 40
th ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team was a winner 5-2 Friday evening.
The Screaming Eagles (9-4, 1-0) stopped the Bearcats (9-2, 1-1) eight game-winning streak, while running their own streak to three straight.

Juan Quiroz, who in the last match broke the program record for most combined career victories, continued to add to that total, as he senior
Michael Kuzaj won their No. 1 doubles match 8-4. Quiroz now has 152 career wins with the Screaming Eagles.

Ben Boesing and freshman
Jack Joyce are now a perfect 5-0 together at No. 2 doubles, as the duo won 9-7.
USI also won its No. 3 doubles match, when junior
Santiago Lopez and senior
Rodrigo Flores took the match 8-2.
Boesing ran his singles winning streak to 12 matches when he defeated Fabio Tsuchiya 6-2, 6-1. Boesing now just needs six more wins to break the school record for most career singles victories, which is 81.
Lopez was also a winner at No. 3 singles when he downed Luciano Misitrano 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
USI meets Bellarmine University Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the USI Tennis Courts.
