Eagles blank Tritons Tuesday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
With temperatures frigid outside, the 41st ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team went inside at the Evansville Tennis Center to defeat the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tuesday afternoon 5-0 in a non-conference tilt.
 
The Screaming Eagles opened the contest with a 3-0 advantage, after winning all three doubles points.
 
Reining GLVC player of the week, senior Ben Boesing and freshman Jack Joyce continued their perfect streak together as they moved to 5-0 as partners, winning 8-2.
 
Sophomore Michael Kuzaj and senior Juan Quiroz were winners 8-5 at No.1, while senior Rodrigo Flores and junior Santiago Lopez downed their opponents 9-7.
 
Kuzaj won USI's opening singles bout 6-4, 6-4 at No.1, and Quiorz shutdown his foe 6-4, 6-1.
 
The remaining singles matches went unfinished after the Eagles claimed the match.
 
The Eagles return to the court Friday when they host McKendree University in a GLVC contest beginning at 2 p.m. on the USI Tennis Courts.
