MARYVILLE, Mo. –
It was a close match between a pair of ITA ranked opponents Thursday afternoon, but the 41st ranked University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team fell to No. 25 Northwest Missouri State University 5-3.
 
In doubles, No.2 senior Ben Boesing and freshman Jack Joyce took the Screaming Eagles first point of the day winning 9-7. Senior Juan Quiroz and sophomore Michael Kuzaj nearly took No.1 doubles, but fell 9-8 in a tightly contested match.
 
Quiroz won No.2 singles, 6-1, 6-1, while Boesing had to go three sets after dropping the first 1-6. The Floyd Knobs, Indiana, native bounced back to a thriller in the final two sets 7-6, 7-6.
 
USI continues its tour of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association when it travels to Topeka, Kansas, to play Washburn University Friday at 6 p.m.
