SAINT LEO, Fla. – University of Southern Indiana seniors Juan Quiroz and Rodrigo Flores won No.3 doubles, while junior Santiago Lopez and senior Ben Boesing took their singles matches, but the 41^st ranked Screaming Eagles lost a close contest to No. 15 Saint Leo University 6-3 Sunday afternoon.
 
In No. 1and No. 2 doubles USI lost its matches 8-5 and 8-4, while Quiroz and Flores were winners 9-7.
 
Sophomore Michael Kuzaj lost at No.1 singles, falling in the third-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 5-7, 5-7. Flores, meanwhile, at No. 6 singles won his first set 7-6, but lost 0-3 and then retired.
 
In the Eagles two victories in singles, Lopez was a winner 7-5, 6-2, while Boesing took his No.4 singles match 6-4, 6-3.
 
“We played hard," said head coach Chris Crawford. "Saint Leo is ranked 15^th, and we hung with them the entire match.”
 
USI's next action is Tuesday, when it takes on Southeastern University at 3 p.m. in Lakeland, Florida.
