CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –
It was a close contest Saturday afternoon for the University Southern Indiana men's tennis team, but Austin Peay State University squeaked out the 4-3 win.

No. 2 doubles, senior Ben Boesing and junior Santiago Lopez were winners 8-5, but in No. 1 and three doubles, the Screaming Eagles were downed 8-4 and 9-7.

Sophomore Michael Kuzaj was in tough battle at No.1 singles, and took the first set 6-4, but in the second set tiebreaker, Kuzaj just missed the win, falling 7-6. In the third set, Kuzaj lost 6-0.

USI made it interesting at four, five and six singles, as it took all three contests in straight sets.

"I was very happy with the way we play," said head coach Chris Crawford. "It's the best we have played all season. We had a lot of chances."

Next for USI is Monday morning contest at the Evansville Tennis Center against Midwest Region foe Lake Superior State University at 9 a.m.
