EVANSVILLE, Ind.  – University of Southern Indiana senior pitcher/designated hitter Tyler Choate (Carmi, Illinois) and junior shortstop Brad Vance (Louisville, Kentucky) combined for eight RBIs as the 16th-ranked Screaming Eagles soared over Kentucky Wesleyan College, 10-0, Wednesday night at the USI Baseball Field. USI rises to 18-8 overall and 10-2 in the GLVC, while KWC falls to 8-13, 2-10 GLVC.

Choate and Vance powered a USI four-run rally in the third with a pair of two-run doubles to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead. The duo struck again in the fourth when Vance had a RBI-single and Choate knocked in a pair of runs with a triple to right center.

Choate finished the game three-for-four with five RBIs and a home run short of the cycle with a single, a double, and a triple. Vance was two-for-four with three RBIs, a pair of runs scored, and a double.

On the mound, Choate (6-1) led four USI hurlers in shutting out the Panthers. The senior right-hander went the first five innings to get his sixth win of the year, scattering three hits and striking out two.
