Eagles ranked #1 in preseason poll

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The NCAA Division II defending national champion University of Southern Indiana baseball team is ranked number one in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Preseason Top 40 Poll. The number one slot is the highest preseason ranking in the history of the program.
 
The Screaming Eagles won their first national title and their second Midwest Regional crown last year with a record of 52-14. USI returns eight of its 10 pitchers from last year, including the entire starting rotation, and four of the eight starting position players.
 
The Eagles are entering their fifth season under the direction of Head Coach Tracy Archuleta, who has accumulated a USI record of 170-76, a .691 winning percentage.
