EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana baseball baseball team goes on the road for the first time in 13 games when it travels to Bellarmine University Wednesday. Game time in Louisville, Kentucky, for the non-conference match-up has been moved back from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (CDT).
The Screaming Eagles (11-7, 2-2 GLVC), who fell to 24th nationally in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 poll today, was 8-4 in the 12-game homestand and was 2-3 last week against Bellarmine, the University of Indianapolis, and Kentucky Wesleyan College.
USI lost to Bellarmine last week, 7-4, but still leads the all-time series, 62-57.
The Eagles come back to the friendly surroundings of the USI Baseball Field this weekend when they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a pair of GLVC contests. The first pitch Friday is 6 p.m., while Saturday has a 2 p.m. start time. The teams will finish the four-game series noon Sunday in St. Louis.
USI controls the all-time series with UMSL, 41-38, after taking three of four from Tritons last spring. The teams split a doubleheader at the USI Baseball Field, while the Eagles swept a doubleheader from the Tritons at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois.
