EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team overcame a 5-1 deficit with an eight-run fifth to complete the three-game sweep of Tiffin University, 15-11, Sunday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. The Screaming Eagles rise to 6-3 in 2010, while the Dragons fall to 3-7.

The Eagles rebounded with eight tallies in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by a lead-off solo home run by junior leftfielder Todd Martin (Rockport, Indiana) and a two-run triple by senior designated hitter Caleb Ehmke (Waterloo, Indiana). USI sealed the victory with four runs in the sixth when junior rightfielder Justin Blinn (Vincennes, Indiana) cleared the bases with a bases-loaded double and scored on a throwing error by the Tiffin leftfielder.
Blinn would finish the day with a three-for-five performance, scoring three times and drove three more. Martin also would finish the day with three RBIs after going two-for-five with a run scored.
On the mound, junior right-hander Dan Marcacci (Jupiter, Florida) posted his first win as an Eagle. Marcacci (1-1) allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out four in five innings of work.
