ST. LOUIS, Mo. The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team remained at the .500 mark in the GLVC this week with a win over Quincy University, 8-1, and a loss to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 6-3, this weekend.
USI (6-8, 3-3 GLVC) was lead by Nathan Sexton (Santee, CA) and senior Andrew McGuire(Greenwood, IN), who won their singles matches and doubles matches against both teams. McGuire defeated Quincy's Sean Miller in straight sets after teaming up with
Ben Hamm ( Bateville, IN) in doubles to give the Eagles two victories Friday.
Saturday, Sexton won in straight sets at number two singles and teamed up with Christoph Burger(Wasserburg, Germany)in number one doubles for two of the three wins against UMSL.
USI is currently tied with Quincy in fifth place in the conference.
The conclusion of the season in April features only conference opponents for USI. The Eagles will travel to Lewis University, Saint Joseph's College, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville before returning home to face Bellarmine University on April 18 to conclude their spring season.
The next matches are April 11 and 12 against Lewis and Saint Joseph's, respectively.
