ndianapolis, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 non-conference match to the University of Indianapolis Friday afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana. USI falls to 5-13 overall, while UIndy goes to 5-11.
The Screaming Eagles trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches. Juniors Ryan McDaniel (Bargersville, Indiana) and Andrew McGuire (Greenwood, Indiana) posted USI's only victory in doubles with an 8-6 win at number two.
In singles, USI sophomore Bodene Scott (Australia) posted the Eagles' only victory with a win over UIndy's Levi Musser. Scott lost the first set and trailed in the second set, 5-4, when Musser retired.
McGuire missed picking up another victory for the Eagles at number two when he lost in a tie-breaker, while junior Christoph Burger lost at number one when he retired in the second set.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday at the USI Tennis Courts when they host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for a 3 p.m. GLVC match.
