EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team finished the GLVC regular season by going 0-2 this weekend at home. The Screaming Eagles lost 7-2 to 30th-ranked Drury University and 8-1 to Rockhurst University. USI falls to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the GLVC.
With the loss to Drury and Rockhurst, USI will be the third seed from the West Division in the GLVC Tournament. The conference tournament will be hosted by Drury in Springfield, Missouri, April 20-21.
In the loss to Drury, freshman Kyla Dorsett (Columbus, Indiana) posted USI's only victory in singles with a tie-breaker victory at number five singles. She also combine with freshman Katie Joe Clagg(Terre Haute, Indiana) for a win at number three doubles.
Against Rockhurst, seniors Kim Decker (Brownsburg, Indiana) and Betsy Gentry (Anderson, Indiana) recorded USI's only victory of the match with a win at number one doubles.
The Eagles conclude the 2006-07 regular season at the University of Evansville Wednesday at 4 p.m.
