Eagles lose by one to APSU

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team lost a close match, 4-3, to Austin Peay State University Wednesday afternoon in Clarksville, Tennessee. USI goes to 2-11 overall, while APSU rises to 4-12.

After losing the doubles points 2-1, the Screaming Eagles picked up three wins in singles. USI junior Chrisoph Burger (Germany) won in three sets at number one singles (6-4, 1-6, 6-4), while sophomore Bodene Scott (Australia) posted a straight set win at number four singles.

USI freshman Cord Poweless picked up the third point for the Eagles at number six singles with a win by default.

The Eagles return to action Saturday when they play at Bellarmine University at 10:30 a.m. and at Indiana University Southeast at 3 p.m. The match with Bellarmine will be a non-conference match.
