EVANSVILLE, Ind.–The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team won its home opener Saturday evening, 6-3, over regional opponent Grand Valley State University at Advantage Court and Fitness in Evansville. USI raises its record to 2-3 overall, while GVSU falls to 4-2.

Nim Shetty (India) winning the number two match, 8-3. The pair raised their record to 9-5 overall this year. Sophomore

Jarrod Epkey (Greenwood, Indiana) lost at number one for only the second time in 2004-05, dropping their record to 17-2.
In singles play, the Eagle won five the six matches.
Joe Epkey raised his record to 5-0 in dual matches at number one singles and to 15-3 overall this year.

Andrew McGuire (Greenwood, Indiana) also picked up wins in singles action.
The next action for the Eagles will be on the road March 5 at Murray State University at 5 p.m. USI's next home match will be March 15 when DePauw University comes to Evansville to play the Eagles at the USI Tennis Courts.
